Highly not recommended for this rental company. 1. When picking up the car on time, the company asked if we were okay with a manual transmission; otherwise, we'd have to wait. They stated, 'When you made the reservation, you only chose the cheapest option, and if we don’t have cars available, we would have to cancel your booking and refund you.' 2. Nationality discrimination: I hold a Chinese passport with a long-term French visa, license, and certified translation, yet the company asked me to provide a return flight ticket to China. However, the French customer ahead of me was not asked for this. I have previously rented cars from Alamo and Sixt across France and have not encountered such requirements. The company explained that it was to prevent vehicle loss. I told them I reside in Paris and do not have a return flight ticket. They then demanded proof of my residence and asked me to email it to a specific address. 3. Deposit is extremely high: Most rental companies require a deposit of 200-300 euros, but this company demanded 500 euros to be held. Furthermore, there was aggressive insurance upselling. Strongly not recommended! In comparison, the service at the neighboring rental company is much better.
Excellent! The car was in great condition, almost like new, with only 2700km. I've used QEEQ multiple times and this was the best car condition so far. Last year in Budapest, the car had over 5000km, also rented through QEEQ.
The store requires customers to purchase insurance separately. Upon returning the car, they demanded toll payment receipts, and if unavailable, a $6 fine was imposed each time. I ended up being fined $12 unjustly.
The service attitude was terrible. During the car pickup process, the female staff member was extremely rude to us. She was very polite when dealing with a white customer, but when it came to us, she was clearly impatient. After completing the procedures, we found that the airport pickup location was very far from the store. We walked there and discovered that the key was wrong—there wasn’t a single car in the parking lot we could use. We had to walk back to exchange the key. We explained the situation politely and asked her to replace the key, but she became very impatient, adamantly insisting that she hadn’t given us the wrong key. She claimed we went to the wrong parking lot and even told us to check the contract, sarcastically suggesting we couldn’t understand English (when it’s actually her English that was terrible, coupled with a heavy accent). After some back-and-forth, she made a call to her colleague to verify and realized she had indeed given us the wrong key. Without saying a word, she quietly exchanged it and continued to insist she hadn’t made a mistake. She went as far as to say we were too incompetent to find the car and that she was giving us a more easily identifiable one to accommodate our intelligence level.
Additionally, we rented an Alfa Romeo electric car but were given a Peugeot 2008 instead. The car was supposed to have a range of 300km when fully charged, but it was grossly exaggerated—the actual range was only 150–180km. Traveling from Rome to Pisa (330km) required two fast charges.
We’ve rented cars abroad many times, and this was by far the worst experience. Stupid Italy.
I was quite satisfied with the overall service during this car rental experience. I’d give it 5 stars. The rental price was reasonable compared to previous occasions. Besides the 300 euros deposit, there was an additional 30 euros service fee. The Volkswagen car we rented was manufactured in 2024 and had only 2,100 kilometers on it when we picked it up—a brand-new car. We booked the car pickup for 9:00 AM and arrived a bit earlier, but the counter staff told us to come back at exactly 9:00 AM to proceed. The rental process was simple; they asked if we had insurance, we showed them our insurance documents, and they didn’t try to sell us additional coverage. Returning the car was even more convenient—just drive it into the garage, hand over the keys, and you're done. No further formalities were required. Compared to our experience with ALAMO in Zurich last June, which was a disaster, this was so much easier. From now on, we’ll rent with Europcar. Although their costs might be slightly higher, the pickup and return process is hassle-free, the cars are well-maintained, and the overall experience is reliable.
I picked up an Audi Q7 SUV at Belgrade Airport on June 4th and returned it as scheduled on June 10th. On June 10th, I received an email from the rental company claiming that the Audi Q7 had two scratched rims and was missing two tires, and they wanted to charge me over 1300 euros plus 20% tax. This is completely false. During my entire rental period, I did not encounter any accidents, and I parked the vehicle daily in dedicated garages and parking lots. I returned the car in perfect condition at Skopje Airport in North Macedonia, and there was absolutely no damage to the rims or missing tires.
The insurance purchased through the platform is completely a waste of money. At the rental company, you have to buy their insurance again. If you don't buy their full coverage, they won't process the rental for you.
