The store at Charles de Gaulle Airport is very inefficient. One female staff member was inexperienced and spent half an hour assisting one customer, which caused us to wait nearly an hour and a half to pick up our car. The vehicle was in good condition, but returning the car was extremely inconvenient. The return process required us to park in the designated parking lot at the store, but the signage was very unclear. We spent over an hour driving around the airport to find the entrance. At one point, we mistakenly entered another parking area, so we went to the store to seek help from the staff, but they were very indifferent and refused to assist. They simply told me to resolve the issue with the parking lot myself. Eventually, I managed to handle it, but the overall experience was poor. Two years ago, I rented a car at Nice Airport in France, and while their efficiency was also not great, the service was better compared to Charles de Gaulle. For this reason, I strongly do not recommend domestic friends to rent a car from this company. Additionally, I had purchased comprehensive insurance, but during pick-up, they still tried to sell me insurance, claiming that their company system showed I only had basic insurance and that the comprehensive coverage was purchased through the platform's app. I refused, and thankfully, the app I booked through had provided tips about this beforehand.
Highly not recommended for this rental company. 1. When picking up the car on time, the company asked if we were okay with a manual transmission; otherwise, we'd have to wait. They stated, 'When you made the reservation, you only chose the cheapest option, and if we don’t have cars available, we would have to cancel your booking and refund you.' 2. Nationality discrimination: I hold a Chinese passport with a long-term French visa, license, and certified translation, yet the company asked me to provide a return flight ticket to China. However, the French customer ahead of me was not asked for this. I have previously rented cars from Alamo and Sixt across France and have not encountered such requirements. The company explained that it was to prevent vehicle loss. I told them I reside in Paris and do not have a return flight ticket. They then demanded proof of my residence and asked me to email it to a specific address. 3. Deposit is extremely high: Most rental companies require a deposit of 200-300 euros, but this company demanded 500 euros to be held. Furthermore, there was aggressive insurance upselling. Strongly not recommended! In comparison, the service at the neighboring rental company is much better.
Pretty good overall. We picked up the car inside the airport and asked about the insurance. They suggested buying the rental company's insurance, but we told them we had already purchased it through the platform, so they didn't push further.
The two-day car rental cost over two hundred euros, and when returning the car, I found two inconspicuous scratches on the rear bumper, likely caused by handling the suitcase carelessly. A total of over four hundred and seventy euros was charged for repair fees, management fees, etc. It felt like falling victim to a 'flashlight-style damage assessment' in the rental version.
1. The scheduled pickup time was 12:00 PM, but when I arrived at the counter at 11:30 AM, they said it wasn't time yet and refused to allow pickup. I had to queue again at 12:00 PM, only to find out the reserved car model was unavailable. After some coordination, I finally got the car at 1:30 PM. 2. There was misleading promotion for insurance, which I discovered and canceled with the help of the customer service representative from Zuzuche (the car rental platform). I was told the refund would be processed within two or three days, but now thirty days have passed, and the refund still hasn’t been credited to my credit card. Zuzuche intervened and was informed that the refund process would only start after the car is returned today. 3. The service staff at the Europcar counter in Charles de Gaulle Airport had an extremely poor attitude. My reserved car was not kept, and instead of apologizing, they said, 'This is how we operate—take it or leave it!' I am submitting this review publicly and stand by the statements I have made.
