Overall, it was pretty good. The customer service representative was very patient during the communication process. In the end, they provided two parking cards in case one malfunctioned.
We picked up the car in Paris. During the trip, a dashboard alert indicated that AdBlue needed to be refilled. Later, we drove to Nice Airport, where they replaced the car for us. Finally, we returned the car at Paris Airport. Avis's service wasn't great—they charged us for fuel even though we returned the car with a full tank. Luckily, we had photos as proof, and the money was eventually refunded.
First of all, the pick-up location was different from what was stated online. They had moved to a new place but didn’t update the information online in time, which caused some extra effort to find the store. Additionally, since it was a one-way rental, the drop-off location in the designated area wasn’t clearly marked, leading to more time spent finding the staff to complete the return process.
The service attitude was very good. After returning the car, they said the deposit would be refunded within two working days, but it was actually returned immediately.
The pick-up location is easy to find; the service is attentive and friendly; the car is in great condition, a brand new 2024 Clio; returning the car is convenient.
This was the worst service attitude I've ever encountered. The explanation was unclear, insurance was aggressively upsold, and charges were repeatedly applied even after fees had already been collected. What was even more unacceptable is that they charged me a pre-authorization fee of €437.4 for the lowest-class vehicle.
The car pickup process went smoothly. We also rented a child seat and tire chains. However, when picking up the car, the staff mentioned it had a full tank, but it actually only had 3/4 of a tank. Additionally, while skiing in Chamonix, it started snowing, and we discovered the tire chains provided by the store were too small and couldn't be put on. Unfortunately, we had to waste half a day waiting for the snow on the ground to melt before heading out.
Originally booked a Peugeot 2008 with a pickup time of 10:00 AM. Arrived at the pickup location more than an hour early and was informed that an extra charge of €280 would apply if the car was picked up immediately. Decided to wait until 10:00 AM to avoid the fee. The vehicle provided was a Jeep with over 90,000 kilometers, covered in scratches. Negotiated to change the car but was initially denied. Upon further inspection, found that one of the rear seatbelts was missing a buckle. After confirming the issue, they replaced the vehicle with a brand-new Peugeot 2008. Only a €120 deposit was charged. The vehicle swap process was very smooth.
