We went really early so there was no line at all. The staff explained everything very clearly and even recommended a local ETC device, which made getting on and off the highway way more convenient.
They offer additional insurance and highway ETC, but I opted out, and the process was done quickly. A domestic driver's license is sufficient (valid until 2025/9/27).
The rental car company's staff were very friendly, highly skilled, and efficient. However, the car I received had a three-cylinder engine with low power. It was slow to accelerate on the highway and nearly stalled on inclines, which was a bit nerve-wracking.
