I booked a Ford Edge, but they gave me a smaller Chevrolet Equinox instead. When I argued with the front desk, they said they didn’t have any Ford Edges available. If no Ford Edge was available, why not offer me an upgrade? Why downgrade me? For years, I've rented cars at Los Angeles Airport in the U.S., and at other rental companies, I could choose any car I liked from a parking area filled with medium and large SUVs. I could pick any one and drive off. At AVIS, however, they assign you a specific car, and in this case, they even downgraded me. This is truly unacceptable!

Picking up the car from Avis was fine, but the car provided was terrible. Although its flaws were not apparent at first, later it stalled automatically and couldn't be restarted. I had to call for roadside assistance and towing twice, which disrupted my plans for two days and significantly increased my taxi expenses. There's no way to get compensation for these losses. Having rented cars many times before, this was by far my worst experience.

The waiting time in line at Avis is relatively long, but the service is good.

Counter staff was very helpful. Gave me an upgraded vehicle.

A decent, good platform for a discounted car rental price.

Full size car (fusion) couldn’t fit 2 normal suitcases in luggage area as it was advertised as 3 cases at time of booking, so had to pay more to upgrade to larger SUV to my disappointment!!!
