The service level was poor—it felt like a scam. The car I booked was clearly a hybrid, but things went downhill during pickup:
1. The first hybrid car they gave me was covered in scratches, overdue for maintenance, and the dashboard showed maintenance alerts. Since I was renting for 12 days and planning to drive long distances, I negotiated multiple times to get a replacement.
2. The second car they provided was also full of scratches. They asked me to take a video, so I did, but it wasn't a hybrid. I had no other option at that point, and to make things worse, it was raining that morning. The handover spot had no shelter, visibility was poor, and I could only hastily record the video.
3. Due to the lack of Chinese-language customer support, I couldn't understand their insurance upselling tactics. I assumed the platform had provided full car damage insurance, but it turned out not to be. The deductible was over €1,300 (about 13,000 RMB), which led to later issues. While driving, I accidentally grazed a curb, slightly scratching the right front rim and tire. The rear right rim also ended up with minor scuffs. There's also a light scratch on the right side of the car, but much milder compared to existing damage. Despite this, the car rental company determined the repair costs themselves and charged me €630 (around 5,000 RMB).
4. After returning the car, I had been told I could get an invoice. The company’s driver offered to take me to a nearby hotel (as my flight back home was early the next morning). However, upon getting in the car, he demanded a €15 tip. When I refused, he insisted on driving me to the airport instead. He claimed there were no taxis available at that time. I asked him to drop me off at the road leading to the hotel—just a few hundred meters away—so I could walk myself, but he forcibly drove us to the airport against my wishes.
Didn't notice during pickup, but there were minor scratches. Was charged 200 euros for damage and 65 euros for some other fee during drop-off. Frustrating.
I did some research on Italian car rental companies via Xiaohongshu and noticed various strategies they employ. It's recommended to purchase full insurance through the platform, as it's more cost-effective compared to buying it directly from the rental company. When returning the car, make sure the interior is kept clean to avoid risks. The shuttle driver from the rental company was nice and helped with luggage. The service was relatively fast, although the car provided was not the model I originally booked, but it was sufficient for use.
We rented from this company because it was the only one allowing cross-border travel. They charged a €96 cross-border fee but only provided a photocopy of the vehicle documents. At border crossings, some countries required the original, which led to lengthy explanations. The booking was for a 5 PM pickup, but we arrived early at around 12 PM. They didn’t allow an early pickup and asked us to wait. After waiting for three hours, they informed us the car was ready. They tried to sell us insurance but didn’t insist since we had full coverage through the rental platform. When returning the car, the front mudguard had a small white scratch, likely from another driver, and we were charged €180 for repairs. The rental location isn’t at the airport, so you have to call them to send a shuttle, which takes about 10 minutes to reach the airport.
The car was great, but during the return process, they found a barely noticeable scratch on the rear bumper and charged over 100 euros. I had to claim it with insurance afterward.
There were two long scratches (2 cm each) on the lower part of the car door. I didn’t record a video when picking up the car, and they charged me 120 euros for it when returning the car. It's very unreasonable. They told me to contact the rental platform since the insurance can reimburse me.
I received a parking violation ticket in Italy but couldn't pay it because I was rushing to catch a flight and didn’t understand the local language. I asked the store staff if I could pay them and have them handle the fine for me, but they refused and told me to pay online. Later, I went online and had no idea how to pay the fine. Now, I don’t know what happened to my deposit of ten thousand dollars, and no one has updated me. The staff in Italy provided no assistance regarding the unpaid parking fine, which left me very dissatisfied.
Good, the service was very nice. There were a few more people during car pickup. The car provided was brand new, with less than 5000 km mileage, diesel engine, and very easy to drive.
I rented a seven-seater car, but when I arrived at the rental company, I was told they only had five-seater cars available. They forced me to switch cars without refunding the price difference, and I had to rely on the intermediary platform to get back part of the cost. Do not rent from this company under any circumstances.
