The overall service was great! The staff were friendly and professional.

They gave us a very beaten-up Renault. Initially, they tried to provide us with a 5-seater which we rejected! We specifically stated that we didn’t need any insurance, yet they charged us over 390 euros for so-called insurance. There was no paper contract; we were asked to sign on a very small screen. I've rented cars in Italy many times but still got tricked!

The Audi I booked was replaced with an Alfa, not sure if they are considered the same class.

The wait time while queuing for the car was very long, and the staff's efficiency needs improvement. We booked a BMW 2 Series, but they claimed it wasn't available and offered us a POLO instead, unless we paid extra for a different car. However, when we picked up the car, the BMW 2 Series was clearly parked next to the POLO, which felt deceptive. The car return location was also hard to find; we returned the car at Rome airport and drove around in circles before finally figuring it out with the help of airport staff. Overall, we will not rent from AVIS again.

When returning the car, no damages were mentioned, but they immediately charged 1000 Euros after I left. When I inquired later, they refused to tell me what was damaged. I bought full coverage on Zuzuche, but neither side took responsibility, and their attitude was poor.
