About Alamo: 6.0 /10
Constantly pushing for insurance sales, unclear and excessive charges. They initially gave me a compact car instead of a midsize one. After an hour of negotiations, I got a Jeep and they asked for more money. It took another half hour to get the charge waived. The billing was very suspicious. I've rented many times, and this was the worst experience.

The customer service's attitude was decent, but I rented a seven-seater MPV. When I went to pick up the car, they informed me that I couldn't drive the MPV because I was under 23-24 years old. Instead, they offered me a seven-seater SUV, but I had to pay extra. I had carefully checked the age and driving experience requirements for the company and vehicles when making my selection. However, during pickup, they refused to give me the car, citing age restrictions.

About Alamo: 4.0 /10
The car I got was much bigger than what I booked. The roads and parking lots in Spanish towns are extremely narrow, making it difficult to drive. The car was in poor condition and had a broken taillight. The most ridiculous part: they gave me a car with 8 liters of fuel and either I had to return it with at least 8 liters, or prepay for a full tank and return it empty. This policy clearly aims to take advantage of you, as it’s nearly impossible to return it with exactly the same amount of fuel. I've rented cars in multiple countries over the years, and this is the first time I encountered such a situation! The contract amount was wrong, and the staff said they would send me the correct contract later. I waited for 4–5 days but received nothing. After multiple attempts to coordinate with the rental car company’s customer service, I finally received it, but it still had errors. This country just feels unreliable overall!

The staff had a poor attitude and looked displeased, like we owed them money. The wait time for the car was long. Only the store in Spain was like this.

About Alamo: 2.0 /10
1. When picking up the car at the Barcelona airport branch, Mr. Giovanni clearly stated it was a pre-authorization and confirmed the insurance proof provided by Car Rent Deals, but he still charged for insurance. It felt discriminatory and unfair. I recommend recording conversations as proof. 2. In Porto, Portugal, our car was broken into and luggage stolen. We made numerous calls to the number on the business card requesting a car replacement, but we were continually told to return to Barcelona airport to exchange the car. We had to drive with a damaged car for 90 minutes to Vigo airport in Spain to try and get a replacement. 3. When returning the car to the Barcelona branch, the counter staff shrugged and said the system was down, unable to confirm any issues or provide any documents, leaving us with no choice but to leave due to our flight check-in time. 4. After returning home, I found an additional 150 euros charged on my credit card statement beyond the rental agreement.

Renting a car was quite convenient, but there were some language barriers since English is not widely spoken here.
