Our Chevy Malibu was quite good. It was a more experienced rental car with a few dings. I worried we might get blamed for some of those, but we did not. Our helper at the rental desk was very friendly and helpful. The return was made with no trouble at all.
Went to the East location. The worker stayed on the phone talking about personal drama for 6 minutes while I waited to be acknowledged (even had the other person on speaker phone!!!). When he was done with his incredibly unprofessional personal call he was so rude I decided to leave and go rent from Minards for the day instead. Didn't even use the vehicle due to the staff. Will forever stick with Enterprise after the experience.
Even though I had a reservation for a SUV, that vehicle or anything similar was available. What was the purposes of a reservation was the question I asked the PAYLESS representative. She indicated that the “system” does not allow her to see what vehicles were reserved for that day. Supposedly employees don’t have access to view what cars are needed for customers with reservations. There was no attempt to find a vehicle which could accommodate 6 - 7 passengers. Employee did not check other PAYLESS sites in Wichita for a possible rental. It was a, sorry can’t help you, attitude. I ended up driving my car to Albuquerque. Very poor customer service and inadequate reservation system. Will never rent from PAYLESS or recommend PAYLESS to friends and family.
