The location is a bit far from the airport and they don't provide shuttle service. The worst part is that there was no spare tire in the car, and after a flat tire, the staff at the rental company had a terrible attitude and kept passing the buck, offering no solution. In the end, I had to contact AA company myself and pay for roadside assistance.
The rental location is not inside the airport, requiring you to walk to Bus Stop 12 (which is actually the farthest stop) for the shuttle to pick you up, so make sure to leave enough time. Since the car model wasn't one we were familiar with, driving it was quite inconvenient initially. To make things worse, shortly after starting, a tire pressure warning alert appeared. We called customer service, and they told us to find a repair shop ourselves. While in Birmingham, we thought of getting it checked at one of their local offices, but they said the car wasn't rented from their branch and refused to help. There were also one or two occasions when the oil warning light came on, which indicates the vehicle likely needs maintenance. Who would be responsible if issues occurred during travel due to such vehicle conditions? Next time we'll avoid cheap options and go for major car rental companies instead.
Overall, it was pretty good. They will recommend insurance, but will not insist if you refuse. The deposit of £1500 takes 7 days to be refunded. The actual rental car was a Peugeot, and the interior space was quite large.
Overall experience was average. If you choose a large vehicle, carefully consider this store. I clearly rented a car with unlimited mileage, but the staff at the store kept trying to sell me insurance. When I told him I had already purchased insurance, he used another tactic, saying I could only drive 100 kilometers per day unless I bought their store insurance, which would then include unlimited mileage. In the end, under his intense sales pressure, I purchased the insurance.
“Mmmm coulda been smoother, but satisfied in the end - mostly staff made the systems better”

Messed up booking, but counter staff came through.... Took time nonetheless. Surprised (and somewhat mortified) to arrive at Greenmotion - obvs rebranded on App. Actually staff good this time (previously nightmare - fictitious damage - obvs. common as 3rd party insurance exclude them) anyways this time ok. Gave me 1/2 tank of free fuel for the delay.
The company clearly explained the vehicle's usage and had the car ready in advance. Although the initially provided model was different, they quickly arranged a replacement later.
In addition to credit and debit cards, you can now pay for online car rentals with cryptocurrency! Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are accepted. Curious about how long a Bitcoin transaction takes or how to pay with Bitcoin? Read our FAQs for more details.
