It's a scam, they claimed I needed to pay an additional 250 euros in insurance because I had an American drivers license. Claimed by CC wouldn't cover it blah blah. If you look at their google reviews, many customers are hit with the same scam. So I cancelled the booking on the spot and got a car without issue from Sixt.

Counter assistance tried to charge a further £250 for insurance insisting I was not covered and then would not let me take the car without charging a further £30 for it being a diesel?

It was easy but then I was hit with hidden charges on pick up

Car booked wasn’t available, had choice of a Vauxhall Cora’s or Alfa Romeo... Cora’s was too small so had to pay an additional 9 euro per day for a vehicle adequate for the luggage.. Also informed that I was not covered for vehicle damage... constantly trying to make me purchase additional insurance ( over 40 minutes arguing this alone shocking)

Машина чудесная. Сервис тоже. Единственный момент! На стойке регистрации нас не предупредили, что нужно будет заправить AdBlue через определённое количество километров. Это добавило нам дополнительные расходы.

The desk clerk at GoldCar/Rhodium was only intent on selling more insurance. He had no other interest. He repeatedly lied to me to try to influence me into buying the extra insurance, instead of explaining things in a clear manner or asking his colleagues for help if he did not know. Eventually he just left! His other colleague was more helpful in explaining the difference between the AXA/Easyrentcar insurance and the insurance they were trying to push on me.
