Distance to rental location is far and shuttle not frequent enough. We bought a Lyft ride to get there $22.00 and almost needed to Lyft again back to airport but the shuttle arrived just then.

I will never use Routes ever again ... absolutely the most unorganized experience I've ever seen with a rental care company. And I've even rented with a mom-pop shop in Hawaii.

“Worst rental experience I've had.”

When we arrived at counter to pick up car, all the staff disappeared into back office. After about 20 minutes standing around waiting I decided to knock on office door to find an employee. About 10 minutes later a staff member emerged from the back and rudely stated to me "I was using the bathroom, is that ok?" By this time, we had been travelling with small children all day and the last thing we needed was a bunch of attitude. Finally got the car after about an hour (they said they had to clean the car before we took it, which we said we didn't need). Upon returning the car, we were told we'd be charged $250 for clean the little bit of sand on the rugs. I sat in the parking lot shaking the floor mats out. Even the shuttle driver said he'd never heard of such a thing and would tell the manager. Very unprofessional. Very rude. Apathetic employees. Takes way too long.

“Stay Away from Routes Car Rental!! You'll miss your flight because no shuttle back to the airport!”

I won't mention how long it will take to get your car. However, it took me over AN HOUR to get back to the airport on my return!!! even when I begged them multiple times that we would be late for our flight! The staff there were so rude and didn't care about the customers at all. When we arrived to Routes to return the car, the shuttle was just about to leave. My daughter rushed to the driver and asked him to give us two minutes to load the stuff so we could catch the shuttle. The shuttle driver was rude and didn't want to wait for two minutes - he said there would be another shuttle in 10 minutes. We waited and waited, no shuttle showed up. I talked to the front desk staff, the guy I talked to just smiled and said, "Well, I'm not gonna get into this...I'm not the shuttle driver, If you don't want to be late, you should have left enough time. I cannot get a shuttle just for you! " After 40 minutes, the shuttle was back, same driver, so there was not another shuttle at all. We rushed to put our luggage into the shuttle. But the shuttle driver said:"No I'm not going back to the airport! I'm off work, I'm going home!! There should be another shuttle in 10 minutes" We were shocked and had to return to the front desk staff. He said:"There is nothing I can do for you, just wait for 10 minutes for the other shuttle." I almost cried and said, there is no another shuttle:"We have waited for 45 minutes!" By the time there was less than an hour from our flight departure, there was still no shuttle. I was trying to get an Uber but that would be time for the Uber driver to locate us. Both of my girls cried and we were so desperate. The staff there looked at us like this was a joke. Finally shuttle came, when I got back to the airport, there was less than 45 minutes left from the departure! I just couldn't believe this happened at a car rental company. They have no professional ethics! It was both humiliating and outrageous!!

The pick up guy never showed. I waited 60 minutes and just rented another car from someone else. Terrible service and will never use you again.
