Avis is quite good and doesn't over-push sales.

At the Avis counter, they didn't recommend any insurance; instead, they added it directly. I bought full coverage from Zuzuche! Even though I know one is from the car rental company and the other is from a third-party insurer, the fact that I didn't need to pay anything upfront and only had to sign gave the staff an opportunity for underhanded operations. As I had to rush to the hotel after picking up the car, I didn't have time to check the documents carefully. Due to a hectic schedule and waiting for the credit card statement, I complained to Avis quite late, and they only refunded 1/4 of the amount! This was my sixth time renting from Zuzuche but the first time with Avis. The experience was extremely bad. It's not about the money; it's the lack of proper assistance! I wanna say the staff I met at the Avis counter was damn f^cking bullsh*t; he just let me sign without mentioning anything, not even a f^cking word. Since it was my first time with Avis, I thought everything would be straightforward. All I did was sign and give my credit card. It was a busy journey, and it took a few days to receive the credit card statement. I called Avis back 2 times and only got 1/4 of the amount back. Returning a car with Avis is quite convenient. Sometimes, young staff members will recommend upgrades, which can be worthwhile. For example, I paid an extra $10 per day to upgrade to a GMC Yukon, and it was totally worth it. However, if an older staff member helps you, they often lack the knowledge to offer any useful recommendations. For instance, they might class a Ford Expedition the same as a Chevy Tahoe, but the Expedition has a noticeably smaller cabin. While the Ford might handle better, if I cared about handling, I wouldn't choose a large vehicle. Most in-office staff are nice, but the people at the exit lot, whether Mexican or Chinese, act pretentious. That's a definite negative. You're just a parking lot attendant, there's no need to act superior, especially to Chinese customers. Because of this, I will never rent from Avis again. They are the most expensive and don't offer better service! Avis mostly lacks Chevy Tahoes!
