The counter staff said they didn't have the model we had reserved in advance (Land Rover), but we saw our reserved model on site. Europcar insisted they couldn't find the keys for that car. Since we urgently needed a large SUV, we ended up with a Mitsubishi (a much cheaper model). A similar situation happened before in the USA, but Hertz there promptly gave us a replacement without any hassle.

The store was easy to find, just across the street from the terminal. Though there was a peak rental period and I had to wait in line for a while, the paperwork was processed quickly. They didn't aggressively sell insurance, and once they copied my documents and handed me the keys, I was good to go! Exiting the parking lot was smooth.

“Overall good car rental experience but could have been improved by less time to pickup”

Excess human involvement. The process could be significantly more electronic or simplified. They had to shuffle through keys thrown in a draw for 5-10 minutes before discovering they didn't have the car model ordered so they provided a suitable but very different alternative.

The experience of renting through a rental broker and not directly from a rental company was a little uncomfortable at first (is this transaction legitimate/am I getting ripped off) but in the end the cost saving was worth the third party being involved in the process.
