The sales agent used an excuse to offer an upgrade during pickup, but the upgraded car was priced more than double the market price for similar vehicles. The next day, at another branch of the same company in a different city, we requested to switch back to the original model. The staff said the switch was possible but the extra charges would not be refunded.

When picking up the car, they noticed we had a lot of luggage and upgraded us to a larger vehicle at the same price. The car was brand new, easy to operate, and the service was excellent. Returning the car was a bit difficult to locate, and we ended up paying a £5 parking fee after spending 2 minutes in the airport parking lot. The deposit was refunded the next day, which was very good.

Europcar forced a downgrade. I returned on the 1st, and it's now the 19th with still no resolution. When I discovered an issue at pickup, they treated us differently, saying you rented through a third party, and we didn't receive your payment, so Europcar can't handle it.

Luxury sedan: Mercedes C Class automatic or similar model, but there was no similar model when I arrived. They tried to convince me to upgrade to a luxury model at a higher price, claiming that because I had rented from them before, I could get this higher-end model at a very good price. Additionally, I had purchased full insurance, but they claimed it was partial insurance (unsure what partial insurance means). Then they mentioned an excess of 2000 pounds, and when I asked more questions, they refused to check. I called the rental company's customer service, and an Indian-looking employee at the store spoke with the customer service representative for about 10 minutes. When I went over to ask further, they said the excess was now 250 pounds, which seemed like bargaining. I then called the customer service directly, and they said they would report to their supervisor. I decided to take the car for now.
