There was no Malibu available at the time, so they gave us a 7-seater Mitsubishi Outlander. It was perfect for our group of three adults and two kids. The third row was spacious for the two children, and the second row can fold 4/6, making it convenient for luggage. The 2.0 engine is a bit weak, but the fuel consumption is 7.4L/100km, not high. Gas is cheap in the US. Returning the car was super easy, took only half a minute.

The car we picked up at the airport was not the Japanese model we reserved, and the condition was average. After being rear-ended at Lake Tahoe, the accident handling was quick, and we were given a newer VW TaoSUV in good condition, which was perfect for driving on Tahoe’s mountain roads. Convenient eToll service for tolls was also provided at a reasonable cost.

The AVIS rental center at San Francisco Airport had a lot of customers, but the staff handled it relatively quickly. After waiting in line for a while, the process was completed, and picking up the car was even easier; you just go directly to the parking spot to get the car. Overall, the speed was very efficient.
