The process of picking up the car at the airport counter was very slow. During both pickup and return, I noticed that Budget added unauthorized charges to the bill. When picking up the car, they didn't ask if I wanted to refuel it myself and instead chose the option for the rental company to fill the tank, which cost an extra 56 euros. I had to request a new bill after noticing this. When returning the car, I found an extra driver fee on the bill even though I was the only one with a driver's license and my friend didn't have one, so it's impossible for there to be an extra driver. Even if I needed an additional driver, they would have to provide their license at pickup. These issues made me feel that this rental company is not very trustworthy and always looking to overcharge.

The original model was an electric 5-door with a large trunk. On site, they said the same class of electric car does not have 5 doors. How can it be considered the same class if it doesn't have 5 doors? The staff said I would have to pay an extra 90 euros to upgrade to an Alfa Romeo or 60 euros to switch to a gasoline 5-door car. Whether electric or gasoline, the Fiat 500 is the cheapest model with the least space. How can it be considered the same as a 5-door car? Additionally, I checked the new electric Fiat 500 in recent years should have a range of over 400 km when fully charged, but this car showed only 200+ km at 96% charge. Clearly, the rental company deliberately bought the base model battery. After a round trip to Mataro for a meal, it had only about 40% left, so I had to pay an extra 28 euros for electricity. Furthermore, if not contested, the electricity cost is calculated as if it was 100% charged, not 96%. Even more absurd, the first car only had 81% charge. Be cautious when renting an electric car from this company and inspect everything thoroughly, including body scratches. The car checklist was also inaccurate, and if you're not careful, you might get charged for any damages when returning the car.

Everything went smoothly with the rental and return. There are two issues to note: 1. The map indication for the Budget rental location in Madrid is incorrect. There is no rental point in the city center, only at the train station. Fortunately, I confirmed this a day in advance. Also, during the rental process, the car rental staff will inform you that the driving license translation provided by QEEQ is not legal in Spain. They can still rent to you, but if any issues arise, the police will treat it as driving without a license.
