I used to always choose major car rental companies, but this time I opted for a small local company. There were only two staff members, one of whom was a newcomer. After quite some time, almost an hour later, they asked me to provide my documents again for re-registration. The worst part was they required a deposit of 1300 euros. I told them I've been renting cars for years, and major companies usually only ask for a deposit of 500–600 euros. Then they suggested canceling my order's insurance and purchasing their insurance for 130 euros, which would waive the deposit. Additionally, they didn’t let me read the rental agreement at all and directly asked me to sign. When I mentioned I hadn’t seen the contract, they claimed it wasn’t the actual contract and only finalized it after signing. However, the document sent to me afterwards turned out to be the signed contract they tricked me into signing. This is too risky and completely unprofessional. The car handed over to me had lots of scratches and hadn't been cleaned, but when I returned the car, I even cleaned it for them. If they intended to create trouble, they had set all the traps beforehand. I will never choose such small rental companies again. Thinking about it gives me chills. After returning the car, they confirmed everything was fine, but today they called asking me to send them a confirmation email. The young dark-skinned guy was clearly a newcomer and unfamiliar with the procedures. He kept saying he was busy and didn’t have time. In short, there won’t be a next time!

The Rentscape agent was kind, welcoming, and made an effort to get us a vehicle 30 minutes before our appointed time. Good marks! The agency does not accept American Express which caused us some consternation as we used this card to book on Qeeq and Amex Assurance covers rental cars in France. the vhecile was not a recent year Audi and lacked some basic "mobile pairing" features. It also was not spotless. Rentscape should update it's fleet, accept American Express and be very attentive to exterior car cleanliness.

Not bad, both pickup and drop-off were relatively quick, but the service lacked attention to detail. They didn't personally guide us to the car or inform us about which type of fuel to use, which wasted our time.

We could not process the €1,100 deposit on any of our credit cards- so forced to buy the €300 premium insurance. After car hire finished we were sent a bill for €106 for cleaning fee and let delivery.... this was NOT communicated to us before we took the car hire. So for a $200 car hire we have now payed in total $800 !!!! This is ridiculous. And something we simply cannot afford. We will be contacting our credit card company to dispute the final charge. Personnel au guichet et au retrait véhicule très sympathique. Voiture propre et en bon état. Pas performante mais fait le job. En revanche, presque 1h20 pour retirer mon véhicule car attendu plus de 45minutes pour un siège bébé manquant. Alors ce message s'adresse à la manager de gold car Bordeaux mérignac L*** J****, quand on réserve 3 semaines à l'avance le fameux siège c'est pour que le Jour J il soit disponible et prêt. Ça évitera l'énervement d'attendre plus de 45 minutes avec un bébé de 5 mois fatigué dans le bras. Mauvaise expérience clairement dès l'arrivée.

The car was clean and well equipped. Built in navigation was a bit of a bonus. We appreciated the six gear transmission. We rented a Dacia--I wish they had those in the United States. All in all, Budget did a fine job. Checking in and out were simple. My only criticism is that the Budget representative sought to get u to take Budget insurance, when we had already paid for the upgraded insurance package with QEEQ. But we simply declined and all was fine.

Car was clean and perfect for what we wanted. When we dropped the car off my wife realised after 20mins that she had left her mobile phone in the car and we were in the airport building. The staff were great as the returned the car from where it had already been taken, found the phone and got it back to my wife within 5-10mins.

the car could barely go to 40 km/h in the mountains. Otherwise it fit our purpose. We couldn't reach budget but somebody was able to go at the counter to change the dates and they did.

Had to wait 2 hours in total to get the car even if I booked online. Very low service. Waited one hour and a half standing at queue and only 6 customers in front of me. After this, had to wait another 30min. outside for the car and I didn't get the car I booked.

The first car they tried to give us was very unclean inside with what looked like flakes of skin everywhere. They also made us wait half an hour because we had arrived half an hour early. The eventual car which we received did not have a lot of the damage which the car had, properly listed on the form. They were unwilling to either look at the damage or change the form.

I came 3.5 hours earlier than planned. They offered a car at an extra of 70€ a day or wait until my time. I waited the 3.5 hours. They gave me the car that they were going to charge me 70€. This is not a great service from Europecar. Also the full insurance was very expensive. 35€ per day. This should not be the case.

The return process was a little unclear as I was asked to sign an electronic device but not told what I was signing for. Also still not seen if my deposit has been refunded. At pick up was advised of a massive excess if I didn't purchase further cover. I have annual cover so declined

Car was fine. Guy at the counter was very aggressive in upselling insurance etc. Made it seem like it wasn't optional. I had to challenge him to get him to remove the extra insurance and he said "we should at least add the breakdown cover for only €5 per day" and made it sound like I had no choice. Was not a pleasant experience.

The service was good, but it might be a bit challenging if you don't speak French or English. Make sure to ask for details. (I can speak French). Also, they close very early, the earliest among all the companies. Pay attention to the return time!

Picking up the car in Bordeaux was fine, but dropping it off in Rennes was very troublesome! The location was very unclear, the parking lot was extremely narrow, the staff were far from the parking lot, and for non-locals, it was very difficult to find. Refueling was also inconvenient, and the AVIS staff had a cold attitude. The key issue is, a few days after returning the car, there was a charge of over 262 euros. It's been over half a month, and there's still no response about what happened!

They try to rip you off. Take a million photos of the car at pick up time as they will try and sting you for every minuscule scratch on the car when you drop it off. They also take forever to reply to any queries you have and will charge your card without your consent (including the supposed “damage” charges

Utterly appalling pick up experience. Huge very slow queue. Way way worse than all the other rental car people at the same airport and time. Incredible that they had apparently made no effort to staff up or flexibly on a very busy Saturday and their process was itself useless - very paper driven rather than online and ready in advance which again the other companies had done (a relative was picking a car up from Budget so we had direct experience of that on the same day). in short - hugely disappointing.

Was disappointed with how extra insurance was sold/explained. Difference in what was said to what was actually covered leading to ambiguity on return of car with a puncture. Initial car damage indicated damage to front right wheel where puncture occurred after the fact with no obvious damage to tyre other than punctured tyre had some damage in region of listed damage so concerned that on return told that I was liable for £180 when told on collection we were covered for everything other than damage to windows and mirrors so pretty disgusted with all the ambiguity.

Voiture Dacia au lieu de la Peugeot 3008 . Cauchemard pour la recuperation du vehicule plus de 50'. Prix assurance tout risque exorbitant. Conditions pas claires,on essaie de me vendre un vehicule avec GPS et quand je prend l'assurance tout risque comme par magie le vehicule est avec GPS. Au parking pour recuperer la voiture le caos,la police avec deux voitures pour un probleme avec un client. Le responsable a l'habitude des reclamations et il s'en fout de tout.

La pire expérience de location. Deux heures d'attente pour récupérer un véhicule déjà réservé et payé d'avance. Le guichet interrent était fermé à l'arrivé, j'ai été redirigé vers celui de Goldcar. Où après deux heure d'attente, on m'a fait de la pression pour prendre différentes assurances. Pour finir, un retour identique avec de l'attente pour bien vous faire comprendre que vous auriez du prendre l'assurance hors de prix. Bref un personnel détestable. Donc plus jamais Goldcar ni interrent.

ACE inexistant à l'aéroport de bordeaux, et je découvre au final que c'est une autre agence qui va me louer la voiture... parking en travaux avec mes deux valises à parcourir le parking pour trouver quel loueur représente ACE !!!!! une location réservée ou on me donne le choix entre deux voitures, j'en choisie une et on m'annonce que pour celle la c'est 10 euros de plus, sans compter le message insistant de l'agent qui veut absolument me faire souscrire une assurance complémentaire. Qu'en cas d'accident il m'en coutera une franchise. J'ai fait 10 h d'avion et j'ai vraiment autre chose à faire que de chercher l'agence partout, je suis fatiguée et je suis assez grande pour savoir que l'assurance en plus n'est pas une obligation. Surtout que vous avez des assurances et que vous outrepasser vos prérogatives de loueur en annonçant que la caution sera prélevée si il y a un accident avec un véhicule assuré tout risque. Formez mieux vos agents et ne prenez pas vos clients pour des imbéciles et affichez sur le bureau a bordeaux un panneau pour ne pas avoir a chercher vos bureaux.

Terrible service, tried charging me over twice the price of fee i agreed on the internet, tried selling me insurance i didnt need and lied and told me my insurance didnt include things that it obviously did. Charged me more for bringing car over border to spain from france than they should have. Charged me for 7 days(full rental time) even though i was only over in spain for 2 days. Was a very stressful experience. had to argue for 30 mins at kiosk.

The staff appears constantly overwhelmed and the wait times are unacceptable (second time this year I rent from this location). There was a line snaking out the door to return vehicle and I had to use the key drop off else I would have missed my plane. They should invest in the same technology as other Hertz/Thifty locations where staff meets incoming cars with hand held device that checks customer out. Last time I picked up a car from this Hertz location it took over 45 minutes to get out! I will definitely make sure I rent from one of the other agencies next time I'm in BOD.

We booked with Rhodium to avoid Goldcar following a poor previous experience despite it being £30 more than Goldcar. On arrival we discovered they are in fact the same company and had to wait over 2 hours to pick up the car at Bordeaux airport. This is apparently ‘normal’ for this company. The customer service when we went to pick up the car and found the car was covered in a sticky substance was extremely rude. We also had to wait 45 minutes in the heat to drop off the car on return. I will never use this company again.

Every time I use Goldcar ( despite booking Rhodium or east rentals! ) I am pressured by counter staff to spend more money. This is unacceptable and will therefore consider going elsewhere.
