Got upgraded to opel corsa . Very nice staff . But one of the staff confirmed that any little chip or dent on the car cost a minimum 99 euro to the customer even if Hertz doesn’t fix it . So you have to be very careful and make sure you have recorded all little dents and scratches on the car which was not the case for me . I had to go back and get it reviewed which took a little bit of time . Drop off was very smooth .

Good booking process

The car was brand new, exceptionally clean, easy to drive and we found the hire company easily after leaving the airport. We found the car very economical and perfect size for 2 people with a small amount of luggage. The only reservation we had was that in purchased full cover insurance to ensure we had zero excess upon damage and the counter person STILL tried to sell us further insurance?!

Great idea to rebook and get a cheaper price right up to the day of hire pick up. We only saved £3 on this occasion but any saving is appreciated.

Upon arrival the gentleman at the rentals desk knew who I was and knew about my booking. There was no confusion and no hard sell of extra insurance. I was given a vehicle in the next category up because they didn't have the one I'd originally booked. There was no option of choosing a vehicle - I was given a Renault Trafic minibus, which was fairly new and in good condition however there was no stereo! Return of the vehicle was smooth (posted keys in letterbox) and I got an email later that afternoon confirming everything was ok. Would definitely use them again.

The staff appears constantly overwhelmed and the wait times are unacceptable (second time this year I rent from this location). There was a line snaking out the door to return vehicle and I had to use the key drop off else I would have missed my plane. They should invest in the same technology as other Hertz/Thifty locations where staff meets incoming cars with hand held device that checks customer out. Last time I picked up a car from this Hertz location it took over 45 minutes to get out! I will definitely make sure I rent from one of the other agencies next time I'm in BOD.

The big problem was after I dropped the car off. I left the keys in their office, on their desk. there was no one at the desk at the time and I thought this would be more convenient for them. There were staff from other car rental firms in the same office. Because I left the keys on the desk and not in a box, I was fined 60 euros. There was no indication that this would happen in the documentation. No harm came to the vehicle because. My impression is that thrifty uses any means it can to extract more money from its customers.
