Insurance more expensive than rental, car picked up at night it was dirty and staff useless

Very annoying up-selling of insurances and other services by Gold Car staff at Bordeaux airport.

Waited 3 hours to get car, staff on desk were useless just saying it takes what it takes. Will never use again. The drop off was also terrible, staff ignoring me, badly signposted to return the car - whole pickup and dropoff process terrible.

I was concerned upon arrrival and seeing Ace was at the same doubter as goldcar with just a tiny A4 sign as I had read so many poor reviews of glodcar, this meat I left with the hire car with some concerns regards what would happen when I returned it! The guy on the vonnter was very polite and did not push any additional insurances as I had expected, we had no issues with the car and return was smooth. I would just recommend that Ace distance themselves from the negative glodcar reputation if possible.

Easy booking and clear paperwork with simple easy to understand recommendations regards the additional excess waiver insurance provided.

Did not get the car I originally booked and ended up paying a lot more than expected!!

The car worked fine but was very heavily damaged (large dents and almost every panel was scratched or gouged) and only a 1.4 petrol so a bit under powered for a car the size I had requested.
