Make sure to bring a credit card with a chip; magnetic stripe cards won't work. Visa or MasterCard is recommended. Picked up the car in San Francisco, drove through Silicon Valley, California Highway 1 to Los Angeles, and San Diego. Returned the car at Los Angeles Airport.

Early morning arrival at San Francisco International Airport, the Hertz counter had no staff, and the lot did not have the advertised Toyota 4Runner or Grand Cherokee, only a Santa Fe with weak power and unstable chassis.

Chinese reception, speaks Mandarin. They didn't inform us in advance that the reserved car was unavailable. Upon picking up the car, we found out and communicated with the staff. They offered us a smaller Dodge or a Chevrolet for an extra $300 per day. We ended up spending an additional $160 on two insurances (one of which was for collision with uninsured vehicles, which in hindsight, was unnecessary). Returning the car was smooth; it was inspected on the spot and the deposit was refunded within two hours.

Overall, it was quite good. The process of picking up the car was smooth, but there was some disagreement over the rescue insurance.

Very classy service, no additional questions nor any other hassle. Took 5 minutes max to get the car and return was even faster.

Very good value for money and right options package was created/provided.
