Overall, it's pretty good, but the car pickup process took quite a while. It took about 40 minutes to complete the procedures and another 20 minutes to pick up the key from the back. However, the return process was quick, and there were no unexpected charges. I forgot to bring my physical Chinese driver's license this time, but I successfully picked up the car using the translated version of my electronic driver's license from the 12123 app. Photos of the Chinese driver's license are not accepted, so I advise everyone to be mindful and always carry the physical driver's license whenever possible.

There were quite a few people in line. After check-in, they said the car was being cleaned, so the wait was a bit long. But we used that time to grab some coffee, get a SIM card, and withdraw some cash, so it was okay. The counter was very large and looked professional. The parking lot was right next to the counter, and it was indoors, which was very convenient!

Car was changed at pickup. Car had NO windshield washer fluid in tank. Could have led to serious consequences, before I discovered it. Had many rocky roads & conditions that required a Clean Windshield!! Car Registration was out of date!!. At a police check, the officer told me to report this to Avis, as this should have been updated before rental. The tires were under inflated & had to be filled halfway through my journey. These problems were brought to attention of Avis Supervisor (Travis) at Capetown Airport. I am seeking compensation from Avis management for the unsatisfactory condition of the pickup vehicle. My vehicle condition Report was submitted to Avis management Nov 2/23 for followup. ***

Apparently price drop protection was activated, but served no useful purpose as I have not received any discounts!!
