Returning the car was very troublesome, had to drive around several times.

Firstly, the staff heavily emphasized worst-case scenarios to upsell additional insurance, presenting it as though an accident was almost inevitable as soon as I drove off the lot. This approach felt more like fearmongering than a genuine effort to assist customers in making informed decisions. Secondly, I was offered a Fuel Purchase Option at an upfront cost of $67, under the claim that it would relieve me of the need to return the car with a full tank of fuel. However, based on average fuel consumption for a typical trip in Hawaii, the estimated cost of fuel would likely be under $50—even if the car was used daily. This option, therefore, seemed overpriced and unnecessary. The sales tactic included exaggerating the inconvenience of refueling in Hawaii, including claims that fuel stations were difficult to access or that foreigners might face additional fees due to credit card charges. The most peculiar assertion was that entering a ZIP code at fuel stations posed a significant obstacle, which seemed far-fetched and misleading. These aggressive upselling techniques undermined my trust in the service and detracted from an otherwise straightforward rental process. I would encourage a more transparent and customer-focused approach, emphasizing informed choice over pressure tactics.

As always, the process was seamless, with an easy-to-navigate system and excellent communication. I especially appreciated the WhatsApp messages providing timely reminders about my car rental and helpful tips on navigating the area, including recommendations on places to visit. The inclusion of Google Maps links for both pick-up and return locations was incredibly useful and much appreciated. This small but thoughtful detail made the process even smoother. The receptionist added a LDW fee that I was not aware of until days after returning the car. This happened even after I told them I didn't need anything extra as I had already pre-paid the rental. When reviewing my receipt at the counter the charge looked to be just the fee of the daily rental and it was not. Please be very aware as they will tackle fees and NOT explain this to you! Very disappointing.

Easy to work with and talk to when there is a problem with the rental company. I had an issue with an over charge on my credit card during my rental and they have opened a ticket for review with the rental company (dollar rental).

there is no full insurance coverage option, and hence needs to get extra coverage from them. Recommendation on fasttrak option by mentioning about high admin charge to mislead customer, as in california, there is not many toll roads and most can take cash.
