Car was in poor condition. Wheel alignment was dangerous. Had serious wobbles on freeway.

The queue at Hertz is usually short since they have more counters open; you can generally get things done quickly. The nearby 'Triple-One' isn't as efficient, but it's cheaper. Hertz's insurance is slightly less aggressive with their upselling; they offered $10 per day and I went ahead and purchased it. 'Triple-One,' on the other hand, tries to upsell everything. While their orders are cheaper, their insurance often makes up the difference. Hertz strikes a better balance overall.

When we drove to Palm Springs, we discovered a slow tire leak. We went to the office to exchange cars, and they didn't charge any fees at all. We just got another car.

All the staff at each stage were very friendly and efficient, and the instructions given were very clear.
