Hertz took an unexplained payment of £59:86 from my credit card despite the fact that I returned the car with a full tank of fuel and in perfect condition. I already had excess insurance cover and so declined this when I picked up the car.

The car exchange location was at the Gare du Nord in Paris, but the navigation based on the address was incorrect. It was also France's National Day, and the store closed early, resulting in an additional 50 euros in parking fees for an extra night. Then, the next day I found out there was actually a key dropbox available for after-hours returns, and I could have just left the key there.

The car provided was exactly the same as the one booked, and the customer service during the car pick-up was excellent. The car had no issues throughout the journey. As Hertz was closed when I returned the car, I simply left the keys and the parking card in the dropbox.
