Drop-off Instructions

If you are departing from Terminal 5, please return the vehicle to our office at:Holiday Inn Heathrow 276 Bath Road, UB7 0DQ After returning the vehicle, you can take the "Avis Budget shuttle" back to Terminal 5. The shuttle will drop you off at the departure level of Terminal 5.

When visiting the UK, it's essential to have a car for the countryside and highlands. You can't fully enjoy the Lake District, Peak District, or Isle of Skye without one. Joining a local tour group isn't the ideal way to travel; self-driving is much better. Avis is a big company, and getting the car you want is a great start to a perfect trip. Returning the car without any damage makes the journey smooth and satisfying. Everything was wonderful.

There was basically no service when picking up the car. They just gave me the keys and a parking location, so I had to find the car myself. Only after asking did they provide me with a paper receipt. I found noticeable scratches on both sides of the car. I had to figure out how to use the car controls on my own. When returning the car, there was no one to inspect it; you just leave the keys as instructed and can leave.

The car provided was already large enough, but they recommended a more expensive one, which I wasn't very happy about. Adding an additional driver costs £14 per day. We picked up the car in London and drove to Oxford and Cambridge. The countryside roads in the UK are narrow and traffic is fast, so careful driving is necessary.

The entire trip was very convenient and smooth. Thanks to QEEQ for bringing us many surprises. Due to time constraints, we didn't visit too many places, but the vehicle's safety while driving was very good. The low beam headlights were a bit low, not sure if they can be adjusted. Firstly, the phone was not answered, and there are several store locations which can be confusing. Additionally, there are hidden charges; be cautious as the insurance charges are applied twice and are non-refundable, which is extremely frustrating. If you don't follow their instructions, it can take at least two to three hours to get the car.

The car rental experience this time was perfect. Upon landing, it was very easy to locate T5. Right outside the exit was Avis's shuttle, which took only five minutes to reach the rental office. There was no insurance upselling; I opted for an additional trailer insurance at £5 per day because the countryside roads were extremely narrow. When a large truck approached from the opposite direction, I had to stop on the roadside in a hurry and accidentally scratched the tire. I’m not sure if I’ll be charged for it. Upon returning the car, the staff assured me not to worry since I had purchased comprehensive insurance back in China. The trip isn’t over yet, so I haven’t seen the final billing statement.

The overall service was quite satisfactory. The car pickup process was relatively simple, but it required two non-UnionPay credit cards for the deposit. Returning the car was also very convenient.
