4 times the rental was charged to my credit card.... an interest free load taken by Easirent!!! Interest free for 3 months. A small black "Smuge" id'd on the car cost me €320:00!!!! An outrageous RIP OFF!!! Now I also pay the additional fees also. Would NEVER use this company again.

The car was awful, dirty on the outside and inside and the man who served me was not pleasant and also when he collected me from the airport used his mobile phone while driving. Also accused me of smoking in the vehicle (which I did not) directly after putting out a cigarette and sitting directly into the car.

The agent on site, Robert, despite making me wait 15 minutes at the airport for pick-up, was pleasant when I picked up the car, presumably as he was trying to up sell me all the various extras. The same individual was a completely different character when I dropped the car off. When inspecting the car, he almost immediately pointed out a scratch on the back-left wheel arch which he conveniently failed to find when I picked up the car. His immediate reaction when I said the scratch was did not occur during my rental was that it was not on the check-in sheet, therefore I was liable for the repair, and would therefore lose my €2,100 excess. The speed at which he went for the back-left wheel arch suggests he knew the scratch was there already. Presumably he is on commission to encourage him to charge customers. Luckily for me, I took photos of the car when I picked it up so I was able to clearly show that the scratch was on the car prior to my rental, much to his visible disappointment. The car I rented had numerous scratches on it. It was not cleaned properly ahead of my rental, inside or out. The attitude of the agent was abysmal. The fact he attempted to scam me out of my full €2,100 deposit left me feeling indignant. In future I won’t make the same mistake by using Easirent. I’ll be sure to use Thrifty, Budget or one of the other more reputable rental companies. I’ve been renting cars regularly for 15 years and I’ve never had such bad service. I picked up the rental car at 22:15 in the dark and dropped it to Dublin approx 8:00 also in the dark. I was accused of scratching the car which I did not do. I showed them (Europcar Dublin airport) the cctv footage of the scratch 15 mins after pickup and they said it didnt matter because I didnt make them aware within the 12 hour window. I only had the car in my possession for 10 hours and the Cork office told me I had 24 hours to report any issues. (Cork Airport office was great). My review here does not allow me to choose my score which is wrong. The car was ok and drove well. it had scratches you would expect from a 2 year old rental car with 85,000kms. The issue is that they wanted to charge me $1500 first, then dropped it to $850 and then to $800 for damage I did not do. Even with video proof they still charged me and I am never ever going to use them again. I had insurance through QEEQ which covers me but it is the principle of the thing. The car had many other scratches on it 7 of which were highlighted in the pre inspection paperwork. so you think they have done their job and notated all the scratches. Make sure you take pics even in the dark as they obviously charged other people before me and never repaired the scratches that those people were charged for. I have 25 rentals on QEEQ alone and this is the only time I have been taken advantage of. DO NOT RENT from EUROPCAR. Plenty other decent companies renting in Dublin Airport. Hertz Dollar Trifty Alamo Budget Avis have all treated me well recently. I would have scored 5 for Europcar Cork Airport and 0 for Europcar Dublin Airport.

We had a very frustrating experience where we were not allowed to take the car off the lot without purchasing additional insurance, despite showing them proof of coverage. This has been an ongoing process to get this money refunded.

Car first offered was not compatible to my Sat nav connection. Had to arrange an older car which had the required connection plug. Staff did all they could to sort this out for me. As a vital piece of equipment, this should be made clearer to people at the time of booking.

The car they provided was very old, and the air conditioning didn't work. Fortunately, the weather was cool, so we didn't need the AC. The pickup and drop-off staff were straightforward and didn’t fuss over minor scratches.

I was very unimpressed that the sales assistant tried to sell us additional insurance when it was clear we already had paid for additional insurance through QEEQ.COM. Indeed if I hadn’t read it carefully, I would have failed to notice the additional €1000. It was also helpful that QEEQ.COM had highlighted this as a potential issue- still a poor show from hertz in cork when late night covid 19 flight that had lost our luggage made us tired and weary! That said when I rang to change he drop off and had another representative they couldn’t have been more helpful and the office in Wexford were equally helpful

The agent behind the desk had an attitude problem at check in. I booked a small Caddy van for the week at Christmas as it was good value. I was told all they had was a long wheel base Transporter which was far larger than the caddy. I was told by the agent people only book vans when they need to carry large items... clearly this isn't the case or the VW Caddy wouldn't exist... The LWB Transporter was too big for what I needed, and not exactly an upgrade due to the increased running costs.

The website said there was a shuttle bus which almost made me rebook with a different company but the counter was actually in the terminal at the Hertz desk. I was very happy with the pick up. Car was brand new.

Like: Incredible price for three days, guy at airport service desk was laid back, very pleasant and there was no pressure, VW Polo was nearly new, in good condition and great little car
Dislike: When I returned the car, I couldn't find anyone to check it in so I went to reception. The guy asked if everything was ok and took the keys; trusting I had not damaged the car. I realised afterwards that they were still able to take money from my credit card so I checked my card for a few days afterwards. Everything was fine but it would have been even better if I'd had it confirmed earlier. Not a problem but that's the only thing I can think of where the experience could have been even better. I will hire a car again through Easy Rent / Thrifty when I'm in Ireland and next time I will be familiar with the procedure. Thank you

No it was a Qashqui not a Tuscon and wouldn't fit 5 passengers. The staff said we need to take out extra insurance but I said we had done it with you and we were told it wasn't good enough although it was the same. We also had to use a credit card for £2000 excess incase of an accident but were told had we gone direct we wouldn't need to.
